Drama that unfolds in the background; or- you are the background. We are at a wedding and the brother of the bride has brought his new girlfriend. She is wearing a scandalizing dress. And she’s got the figure for it! It’s hard not to notice and it’s hard for other guest’s girlfriends not to notice the breaking of necks in the collective boyfriend cohort. Sniggers maybe subtly audible over the waterline. No- we’re not at the wedding, we’re at the venue an hour and a half before showtime, rehearsing. All of a sudden we realize that the brother of the bride and the buxom S.O. are gone. They re-appear as the ceremony is about to begin in new outfits. We are privy to none of the words exchanged. But we can imagine.
